Authorities have announced a new bill that would protect girls club delivery videos of young girls from being illegally sold to men, in an attempt to deter underage sex trafficking.
Lawmakers are calling on the Trump administration to act on the proposal, which was introduced by state Sen. Tom Ammiano (R-N.Y.).
Ammiani’s office said the bill would be part of a broader package of anti-trafficking measures, including measures to protect minors in public places from being sexually exploited and prosecute offenders.
Ammiano said the legislation would help prevent the sex trafficking of young women, and called for an investigation into a high school principal who sold the videos to a high-school student.
The video was sent to a girl at the school and posted on YouTube in September 2015, Ammian said.
The video shows a boy playing with a girl on a swing, and it was later uploaded on a girls’ lounge at the home of a high schools friend, Ammann said.
Ammia said the girl later became a sex trafficking victim.
The NYPD said it is investigating the incident.
