How to play poker in Chicago’s Strip Clubs
A new casino that opened in a Chicago strip club last week could be a real game changer for the industry.
While the new casino, called Paradise, is expected to bring in more than $300 million in new business, some local bars and clubs have already taken steps to mitigate the risks.
One of the most prominent is the Liberty Room in the Belmont neighborhood, which has already begun hiring additional security guards.
Bar owners are also calling on the casino to ensure that the security guards are licensed.
The Liberty Room was established in May 2016 to cater to “the hottest young women” and attract “the best entertainment and best customers,” according to its website.
The owners have not said what type of business they are doing, but they do say they are focused on bringing a “premium dining experience” to the strip.
The owners say they have worked with police to ensure the security is up to code and will be open from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m., according to the website.
In addition, the owners are calling on a federal agency to provide them with training on how to handle patrons who are intoxicated.
Bar owner Kevin Kelly says he wants the casino staff to be able to serve customers who are sober.
He says they need to understand how to recognize patrons who have been drinking, and how to get their hands clean.
Kelly says the Liberty Rooms will also serve as a place for guests to “pick up after their friends” and for the casino employees to pick up after customers.
While some bars have already begun to hire security guards, the Liberty Suite owners say it will not be an easy task.
“It’s going to be tough,” Kelly said.
“There’s a lot of people that are going to come in here and they’re going to want to come back, but there’s a very high bar that we’re trying to keep open.
And I’m not going to do that.
I’m going to make sure we have a safe and secure place for people to go.”
